Carolyn was born in Scotland, but has lived abroad, and has been a Transpersonal Therapist and trainer in Greece, Italy, Holland, USA, England and Scotland. She has returned to Scotland and worked in the NHS as a psychosexual counsellor, and in a Relationship Scotland venue as a Couple and Individual Counsellor. Iintimacy is affected by many things. If we are in a healthy relationship we expect to be able to conect to another on many levels. If there are problems in our sexual relationship we do not know where to turn and usually feel very stressed by the situation. Specialist counselling is available which specifically addresses the areas where stress has impacted our lives. An assessment is required which is 90 minutes, and then an initial block of 6 sessions which are usually around 1 hour long. Various conditions are needed in order for psychosexual therapy to be successful: honesty, and commitment to keeping appointments and completion of the homework assignments. This programme is based on the Relate Psychosexual Therapy programme and is very successful.
